Armand grew up studying music before switching to a path in film. After graduating with an Honours in Film, Armand went on to win Screen Australia and Screen NSW funding for two successive short films. He then moved into directing launch promos for tentpole TV shows, where a number of his spots won Gold at PROMAX USA. He moved into directing TVCs when his spot “Manchild” was a finalist in the Doritos Crash The Superbowl competition, (one of 10 out of 5,000 entries). His TVC work has since won a span of awards.
He’s directed over 15 short films which have screened internationally, including official selections at Tropfest, Rotterdam, Aspen, LA shorts, St Kilda, Flickerfest and Raindance. He was the first winner of the “Wildcard” development stream through Screen Australia for his feature screenplay “Escape From Year Zero” which won subsequent story development funding. He has a number of features in development. Outside of writing and directing, Armand spent years studying acting and teaches dance as a hobby.
